In week 4 of our FYS, we talked about the last letters from the Holocaust. We started the classes with a free write, which I enjoyed. I think it is a great way to get your brain moving and a good exercise for writing. The rest of Tuesday’s class included a discussion on the last letters from the Holocaust. We talked about our letters with a partner and found similarities between both of ours. Then we went around the classroom and shared all of our connections with each other. The main similarity that was present in most letters was the importance of protecting the children. Then for homework, we commented on 3 of each other’s weekly writings. I think this is a really interesting way of interacting with each other on our work. We are continuing this throughout the rest of the semester. On Thursday we started class again with a 10-minute free write, about brainstorming and development of our first paper. After our free writing, we talked about ways of research to get information for our papers. Last we talked about what we are going to be doing in week 5. Which is love letters, I am excited for the upcoming week. I think reading love letters will be fun.
