Round Robin Presentation – Week #9

This week in Warm Regards and That’s All, we focused on Letters of note. The week before we signed up for two different letters. The first one was Letters of Historical Note. I chose Benjamin Franklin and the Silence Dogood. The overall story of the letter was, when Benjamin was young around the age of 15. He had all these ideas and opinions on the world and what was happening around him. Unfortunately for Benjamin his older brother James wouldn’t let him publish his writings. So Benjamin wrote his essays and would sign them as B.F. in hope that no one would know it is him. He would drop them of at a printing house and wait for them to be printed in the morning. His favorite part was hearing what everyone had to say about his writings. I really liked this exercise, and thought it was a creative way of looking more into the Historical part of our unit.

On Thursday this week we did a fast presentation. Like above the week prior we chose a letter of note that we would discuss. This form of discussion being a presentation. We had 10 minutes of class time to put everything we thought of importance into our slides. Once that was done we had only 3 minutes to present it to the class. The letter I wrote about was from Richard Feynman, titled I Love My Wife. My Wife is Dead. In my presentation I talked about who Richard and his wife were and what made her pass away. I think I did a good job on the presentation, and it was really interesting listening to other classmates in a short time and seeing who would be cut off by the 3 minute mark. Lastly, I thought this week was really fun and I liked both activities we did and thought it was a good way to learn.
