This week in class we focused on our analysis paper. At the start of Tuesdays class we had a presentation on developing thesis for our papers. Honestly before this presentation I had nothing but my name on the paper. I had an idea or so I thought. Since then I have completely change it. I am really glad we had the discussion on thesis statements. I’ve never been good at writing them. I usually don’t know how to start it or make it into an argumentative sentence to later prove in the essay. So far I’m thinking my topic is going to be based off of Love Letters.
On the second day of class in week 6 we read and listened to the address unknown. It was about two friends from America, and one had moved over to Germany right before World War 2 happened. They would kept in contact over letters, until it became frowned upon to talk to Jewish people which his friend in America was. He had to switch over to using his bank stationary in order to still talk to his friend. Then later on his friend got a letter from him and it said that he has to cut off contact with him. He got a letter back from his friend saying that he was very saddened to hear this news and that he hopes he reaches out soon. The letter he gets back is saying rude stuff about his religion. The story was very interesting to listen too. Overall, I really enjoyed this week and I think it really helped me get started on my World War Two paper.
